Jeri Hardy
MS Gulf Coast Artist Portfolio

Jeri Hardy grew up in Oklahoma but has made
Mississippi her home for the past 40 years.
She is the mother of three and grandmother
of four.  Together she and her husband
have 11 grandchildren.  Family, God, and
art are the cornerstones of her life and is
reflected in her work.

Jeri started out drawing but soon went on to
formal training at University of Southern
Mississippi, Mississippi Gulf Coast Jr. College
and now and Jeff Davis Jr. College.
Her path soon led to her current focus,
that of spiritualism.  Her art direction focuses
on her belief in God and the love He brings to
her life.  Her cross paintings and collages are
spectacular and collected my many.  She also
does secular art that include whimsical
creatures for children's rooms.

Jeri designs a new Christmas card every year
also loves to create children's paintings.
Commissions are welcomed.

Jeri Hardy's reputation as a
great Mississippi gulf coast
artist continues to grow in
the Mississippi Gulf Coast
Artist Community area and
in the Southeast.  She is
widely regarded for her
cross pieces and has
commissioned several pieces
for clients all over the United
States.
Jeri Hardy is becoming famous in the Mississippi Gulf Coast area for her cross pieces.  In some
art circles, she is known as the “Cross Lady”.  Jeri is proud to be known for her work with the
cross.  At first, Jeri was waryto focus on religion and employ religious themes in her
paintings.  Over time, Jeri realized she could only be true to herself and her beliefs if she
released her fear and let the true nature of her art come out.

"THE GOD OF OUR FATHERS" I was inspired to do this cross by a
picture I had seen of Hagar kneeling pleading for her son's life. I
love using brocaded or embroidered ribbons with cording and
beads and just about anything I can get my hands on. I used
three entwined circles representing the Trinity. In the bottom left
corner is one of the golden lampstands mentioned in Revelations
and is also used in the St. John's Bible the first Bible to be
illuminated in 600 years and will be completed in 2012. It has
been one of my greatest inspirations. If you are not familiar with
this amazing Bible, please look it up on the internet. You will fall in
love with it. My crosses are elaborate and beautiful, but then so is
God's Glory and that is what I want people to see in my work.
Thank you
Jeri Hardy
