I was born in Columbus , Ohio in 1976 but moved to Georgia the
following year, where I spent the remainder of my adolescence
and young adult life. Two years after graduating high school,
I enlisted in the Air Force reserves where I studied as a lab-
oratory technician for 6 years. The military always has been
and continues to be a part of my daily life, first as a child
growing up under my father, then as a member.  After getting
out of the military in 2000, I knew that  I needed to return to the
true love I developed a need for in life  as a child, art. Subsequently,
I graduated from Auburn  University  in 2005, summa cum laude,
receiving my Bachelors’ degree in Fine Art.

Most of my artistic influences derive mainly from the expressionist and the impressionists: Matisse, Derain, Van Gogh,
Cezanne and Mary Cassatt are some of my favorites. I am drawn to brilliant colors, bold lines, and movement. All of
which I believe can make for any emotional interpretation when combined. I draw/paint a variety of subjects because
there are just so many wonderful and cool things around us! I believe that the interpretation of one’s art is based upon
the mood and feelings evoked within the individual whom is viewing it at that particular time. We see what we want to
see, not what the artist wants us to.

Today you can find me painting, drawing, making handmade paper or working on any number of decorative projects. My
other hobbies include, baking, cake decorating, the outdoors, running and keeping fit and spending time with friends and
family. I hope that you enjoy viewing my art and that it can evoke a unique appreciation with in you!

"Contentment"
Framed in a 12 x 14 silver frame.
This charcoal and pastel drawing portrays a
self-embraced, sensual, female figure completely
"content" with herself: mind, body and soul. She is
deep in thought, perhaps over a first kiss or
intimate encounter. She is surrounded by floating
flowers and flickering fireflies, creating a sense of
suspension and illumination. The pop of bright
pink adds an element of fun and contrast to the
dominant gray, embellishing her feminine nature.

"Let Your Hair Down"
24 x 32 silver frame, 11 x 18 opening
The ultimate expression of everything that is woman once she decides to
be freed from the monotony of daily life and "let her hair down." Bright,
bold, and full of curves, this pastel illustrates the beauty and uniqueness
of the female anatomy. Her forward body language reflects a sense of
enticement, yet her tilted head evokes hesitation. The curves in her hair,
hips and shoulder have been defined with a line of black, further
emphasizing her womanly features. She is set in front of a background of
blue hues to demonstrate her tranquility from this new found liberation.

"Midnight Mocha at Mars"
32 x 24 silver frame, 19 x 23 mat opening
A surreal depiction of an unfamiliar yet tantalizing figure having a cup of
coffee, this piece speaks volumes of whimsy. The decision to use
"Martian" green for the skin and "planetary" blue for the hair warranted
the need for such an unearthly title. She is lounging by the light of the
moon and stars while engaging the viewer with her seductive eyes.
There is a balance between the unusual subject and the choice of
color. The subject matter is playful, exhibiting lots of movement, while
the colors remain cool and restrained.

"Mysterious Intentions"
24 x 32 silver frame, 18 x 23 mat opening
Mysterious Intensions

This piece mixes color relationships and their over-all implications to
the viewer. The background carries dominant warmth in shades of
orange and yellow evoking feelings of energy and passion, while
the foreground interjects with restful colors like pale blue and
green. The obvious line of deep blue that severs the two color
relationships visually alienates one from the other, however they
seem to successfully coexist when you look at it in terms of subject
matter. The tree and the female figure both project a sense of
mystery and the presence of wind. Similarly, the white in her eyes
coupled with the white of the sun, suggests a hypnotic quality and
an uncertainty of either's intension.
