About Our Website
I am Jennifer Googins, Ms Gulf Coast resident, art teacher and mother of two. I have opened this website to give Ms Gulf Coast artists an
inexpensive, convenient way to display and sell their art to a larger audience & create a convenient directory of artists for those seeking artistic
services or art related resources. We offer free "Artist Index" listings and "News & Event" posting for artists and galleries, plus sponsorship &
link exchange programs for local businesses and gallery owners. Our resource pages are full of useful links, local art classes and contests. We
also offer online portfolio hosting to local artists with no jury/judgement process. I hope that with the small fees I'm charging for an online portfolio
for artists & galleries, that I will be able to keep the Gulf Coast's artist Index alive and growing, creating free online exposure for artists & galleries
with our many programs. (Artist of the Month, featured art gallery, newsletter mailings and more.)

| Our site's history. I began GooginsGallery.com in 2007 originally as a personal art portfolio for my self. Soon after I began adding online art portfolios for friends and family. As a private art teacher I spend a lot of time researching various topics of art, from supply deals to a variety of medium techniques and projects or art teachers to assist at Abbey Road Art Club. I began adding the useful and interesting links and information to share with other artists and friends. I also routinely search for local art related contests & events to attend for myself. Again, I compiled my findings and added them to the site. As the site continued to grow I received a great response from the site's audience, thanking me for being able to find local artists and art resources in one place. In July of 2009 I re-designed my site from a personal portfolio to The Gulf Coast Artist Index & resource site offering artists & galleries free listings to our artist index. As our index and resources grow so does our site and unfortunately the cost to keep it up. With site traffic reaching 6000 "local" clicks a month with a continual monthly increase since the beginning of the year, I have recently began an advertising program for local businesses to advertise with us and reach our residents while helping to promote our local artists.
